Nicole hails from New Mexico and those hick towns where everyone learns how to line-dance and play American football at age 3…  Growing up with country music can’t be all bad, all you have to do is take a look at her and see how well that type of experience can turn out.  Then again spending your time whizzing about the world and meeting interesting people probably has something to do with it as well ;-)

My friends are also friends to music.  They’ve inaugurated a new place for friends to music.  Check it out, they’ve completely redesigned the old interior of the Paris-Paris.  We’ll lobby for a new shrine to the beats that need to heard.  Beyond music, you can find also find all kinds of “choses merveilleuses” there…

In the Abrahamic religions, there is a constant struggle between good and evil.  But paradoxically, the main causes of evil in this world has been human attempts to eradicate evil, or what has been viewed as evil.  In contrast, Buddhism emphasizes enlightenment and ignorance.   One way to summarize the basic Buddhist teaching is that we suffer, and cause others to suffer, because of greed, hatred or delusion (i.e. the Three Roots of Evil).

The hard part is knowing when that level of enlightenment (or knowledge, conscience, maturity) has been reached when one can transform greed into generosity, hatred into kindness, delusion into wisdom.  I conclude therefore that the struggle between good and evil is not an easily graduated one.  You have to forget your personal references to see all the points of references in the world that can help you see universal greed, hatred or delusion.  So I guess, I’ll keep concentrating on myself by paradoxically forgetting about myself…
